This was riveting from start to finish. A fictional look at the life of Dietrich Bonhoeffer, a German who came to the United States in 1931 and witnessed the horrendous conditions and treatment of blacks in particular and working people in general, specifically the gruesome toll of exposure to silica — people worked to death and economics which ensure that there is always another live body to replace those of the fallen.
